JESUS IS KING | What it means to crown a different type of King

When we call Jesus “King,” the title can trigger thoughts and emotions that lead us to misunderstand who Jesus actually is.

But the truth? Jesus is unlike any other king because He is a King who SUFFERS, SERVES and SAVES.

◾️He suffered so that He can understand our pain.
◾️He serves so that we can experience His grace.
◾️And He saves so that this — whatever you’re walking through — is not the end of the story.

Jesus is different kind of King, yes — but you’ve got a choice to make.

Will you kill Him or crown Him?
Will you silence Him or submit to Him?
Will you live your own life in your own power — or will you trade up to the dynamic life Jesus offers?

WHEN THE WORLD ENDS | What will you cling to when what you clung to crumbles?

When we hear the word “apocalypse,” our mind floats to the question, “When?”

But the word apocalypse?

In Greek, it actually means to “uncover” or “reveal.” So, instead of asking “when” — what if we shifted our question to ask “what”?

➡️ What is God trying to reveal to us when the world around us (or our “worlds”) starts to crumble?

RECOGNIZING WHO GOD IS | How much does He really love us?

We can’t love God until we recognize how much He loves us first. We can’t love others until we recognize how much He loves us. As Jesus followers, we are called to love our neighbors. God calls us to love people who look different than us and longs for us cultivate Kingdom diversity. Together we can choose to give power to things that matter by loving and listening to those whose experiences and histories are different than our own.

THE BRIDGE IS ALWAYS OPEN || Let’s impact our world by removing THE barrier.

Has a barrier kept you from connecting with God? A barrier that tells you that you are not good enough for the church or fit into the church enough?

This is NOT what Jesus is about. His kingdom is for every person and every nation.

You can start today, as a follower of Christ recognizing the external barriers tat keep others from connecting to God and His community and build a bridge to people to live a full dynamic life in Him.

IF YOU WANT TO BE THE BEST, YOU MUST BE LAST || Eradicating the root of racism

We have let our desire of being “The greatest” & “The best” cloud our true command of loving one another. Jesus tells us if we are to follow Him, we are to be a servant to each other and commit to do what it takes to love one another.

This weekend, Pastor Jason Smith teaches from Mark 9 & 10 and reminds us if we are to be great, we must choose to go last. It’s not about how high you start, but it’s how low you go.
